About Doctor Lisa Matzer
Dr. Matzer received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her medical doctor degree from Yale University. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. She completed a cardiology fellowship at UC Irvine and a cardiac imaging fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. At Cedars-Sinai, she was awarded the prestigious American Heart Association fellowship award.
She has received board-certification in three boards (internal medicine, cardiology, and cardiac imaging). She is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Nuclear Cardiology.
She has been a leader in the field of cardiology. She started and headed the nuclear cardiology program at UC Irvine. She was one of the youngest women doctors to head an academic cardiology program in the country. She also developed the outpatient cardiac imaging programs at the California Cardiac Institute and at Glendale Adventist Hospital.
She has published numerous articles in the leading medical journals (bibliography), is a sought after speaker for other medical professionals and the general public (speaking engagements), and is frequently consulted doctor by the media for her expert opinion (media).

In her free time, Dr. Matzer enjoys spending time with and taking care of her two school-aged sons.
